Why dogs help anxiety

I always film with my dogs when I film classes for the online studio. ( my cat prefers to hunt us from the courtyard )

One of them, Jack, sits in my meditation chair and observes my every move.

I know I feel better with my dogs near me, and seeing other people's pets on zoom during the pandemic always warmed my heart.

So I had to research for the Blog, 'Why do dogs help with anxiety' I'm not a doctor, but I am a woman who suffers from anxiety and has found that having a dog ( or two and a cat ) has helped me immensely.

In this blog post, I'll share with you some of the ways that having a dog has helped me cope with my anxiety and stress.

Dogs are known for their loyalty and companionship, but did you know that they can also help alleviate anxiety and stress? Studies have shown that petting a dog can increase serotonin and dopamine levels, two neurotransmitters known to regulate mood and reduce anxiety. Additionally, dogs can provide a sense of security and routine in our lives, which are important for people suffering from anxiety.

In my own experience, I've found that having dogs has helped me in several ways. First of all, walking my dog gives me a chance to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Walking is exercise, which has been shown to help reduce stress levels.

Secondly, my dogs provide me with unconditional love and support; no matter how bad my day is going, they are always happy to see me and ready to cuddle. And finally, taking care of my dog forces me to stick to a daily routine, which helps ground me when I'm anxious.

If you're an anxiety sufferer, I highly recommend getting a dog. Not only will you provide a loving home for an animal in need, but you'll also be improving your mental health. Dogs can offer us companionship, love, support, and structure—all of which are important for those suffering from anxiety.
