Anxiety-Busting Fun Celebrations

It is Mardi Gras Season in New Orleans, where The Deep Center is located. So it had me thinking, how does celebration affect Anxiety?

Whether you suffer from anxiety in general or are a breast cancer survivor struggling with the effects of treatment, it can be hard to push through and focus on something positive. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible! Celebrating something fun can make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself and your situation. Here’s why celebrating something fun makes anxiety better.

Acknowledge Your Feelings – but Don't Dwell on Them

One of the best things about celebrating something fun is that it gives you an outlet to acknowledge your feelings without dwelling on them. Acknowledging your feelings is important because it gives you an opportunity to think about what might be causing them, which can help you identify any potential triggers or patterns. However, if you get too bogged down with thoughts and worries, they can become overwhelming and even feed into each other, making it harder to break out of the cycle. Celebrating something fun helps to provide an outlet for those feelings without letting them take over completely.

Take Breaks From Stressful Situations

Sometimes when we're dealing with difficult situations or emotions, it's easy to get stuck in a pattern where all we do is focus on the negative aspects of our lives and forget about the good things. Celebrating something fun forces us to take a break from all that stress and worry, even if only for a few moments. It gives us an opportunity to remember that life isn't always bad; sometimes, we need moments of joy and happiness to savor. Taking short breaks from stressful situations can help us gain perspective and maintain our mental health in the long run.

Break Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Celebrating something fun also allows us to try new things and break out of our comfort zones. Trying new activities can help boost our self-esteem by reminding us that we have control over our lives—we're no longer limited by what others expect us to do or be! Plus, having fun also reminds us that life isn't all doom and gloom; there's still room for joy and laughter, even in difficult times. That reminder can give us hope for better days ahead when we may not otherwise feel very optimistic about our current circumstances.

Celebrating something fun is a great way to manage anxiety because it allows us to acknowledge our feelings without getting overwhelmed by them, take breaks from stressful situations, and break out of our comfort zones so we can try new things—all while having some much-needed fun! So next time you feel anxious or overwhelmed by your circumstances, take some time out for yourself and celebrate something special just for you! You'll be glad you did!
