How emotional freedom technique works?
Emotional freedom is very important to lead a peaceful life, especially for women but when a person suffers from a disease like cancer it destroys not your physical health but your peace of mind too. So, what techniques should be adopted for emotional freedom for women suffering from cancer?
At certain times in life, everyone feels blue and seems that everything is going wrong. The feeling of sadness is normal but if you cannot get over these feelings within two or three weeks while suffering from cancer, so we say that you are probably suffering from depression. Its symptoms are loss of interest, low appetite, mood swings, improper sleep, and many more and it occurs in a person of all ages and gender. These symptoms exist mainly in women suffering from breast cancer.
Today, about 350 million people across the world are suffering from anxiety and disorder. According to a mental health survey conducted in 17 countries, it is reported that about 1 in 20 people suffers from depression every year. So, we say that it is a significant contributor to the global burden of disease and affects people of all communities.
Emotional stress and cancer:
Women who are suffering from or diagnosed with cancer often struggle with intense feelings of fear, stress, and anxiety. These emotions negatively impact the sufferer's quality of life. As a person’s life is interrupted by panic and anxiety, relationships may suffer, a career can also be affected. According to the world health organization, Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide with an estimated 14.1 million new cancer cases and 8.2 million cancer-related deaths. So, women who have cancer may find the physical, emotional, and social effects of the disease to be stressful because they may take many kinds of medications, surgeries, therapies. People use different things to manage their stress. Some of them even start smoking or drinking alcohol. To avoid this many therapies, medications and exercises are suggested for women breast cancer patients to avoid stress and depression.
Emotional freedom techniques:
Enthusiastic Freedom Technique (EFT) is a progressive treatment strategy that offers healing from physical and emotional pain without using medications or any kind of needles. It is created by Gary Craig, that can be performed virtually anywhere. In this technique, pressure is applied to different parts of the body using the fingertips it is done to release blockages. Because when these blockages are released, the problem feeling can be released through the body.
5 steps of EFT for women breast cancer patients:
EFT technique is divided into 5 steps. Breast cancer patients need such kind of techniques to get rid of stress. It is not only for women but for men also.
The steps are:
Identifying the issue
Test the initial intensity
The setup
Tapping sequence
Test the final intensity
Identifying the issue:
This is the important phase of EFT. In this phase, you should identify the issue that is causing stress like think about the fears you have or the things that are bothering you. This technique should be effective because all the other activities rely on this phase. For better results, it is recommended to focus on one problem at a time.
Test the initial intensity:
The second stage is to test the initial intensity. It involves the measurement of how you feel. For this purpose, you need to set a benchmark level of intensity. The intensity level uses a scale rating from 0 to 10. The scale evaluates the enthusiastic or actual aggravation and uneasiness you feel from your central issue. A 0 on the scale means you don't feel bad at all and a 10 means the worst or most difficult feeling. 0-5 is the feeling you can easily get through but after 5 it may require some time to recover completely.
Rate how bad you feel and monitor your progress regularly after performing a complete EFT sequence. If your initial intensity score was 10 before starting EFT and ended at 5, congratulations you’d have accomplished a 50 percent improvement.
The setup:
To overcome anything in life just accept the way you are. In the third stage, before tapping, you want to layout an expression that makes sense of what you're attempting to address. For example, you can say “Even though I have this [fear or problem], I profoundly acknowledge myself.” Or you can say "Even though I feel anxious about my work and career, I deeply and completely accept myself."
This step involves:
recognizing the issues
accepting yourself despite the problems and issues
You can use the phrase that fits you, but you should not address some other person like "Despite the fact that my mom is sick, I profoundly and totally accept myself."
Tapping sequence:
The EFT tapping is the methodic tapping on the closures of nine meridian places. These are:
karate chop (KC): small digestive system meridian
top of the head (TH): overseeing vessel
eyebrow (EB): bladder meridian
side of the eye (SE): gallbladder meridian
under the eye (UE): stomach meridian
under the nose (UN): overseeing vessel
jawline (Ch): focal vessel
start of the collarbone (CB): kidney meridian
under the arm (UA): spleen meridian
Start by tapping the karate chop point while at the same read your setup phrase three to four times. After tapping the underarm point, finish the sequence at the top of the head point.
Test the final intensity:
Toward the finish of your sequence, rate your intensity level on a scale from 0 to 10. Compare your results with your initial intensity level and repeat the process until you reach 0.
Emotional freedom helps you to lead your life with peace and inner joy. But in life due to certain events, your peace of mind becomes totally disturbed especially when a woman is suffering from breast cancer disease. Cancer is one of the diseases that destroy your mental health. For this purpose, EFT steps are recommended for women. It is basically tapping therapy that includes 5 steps that help to restore balance to your disrupted energy and gives you emotional freedom.
