If I Could Get Rid of Half My Work, This Is What I Would Get Rid of

Hello, fellow busy entrepreneurial women!

The pandemic taught me something we could all relate to: the art of constantly being on the move, a.k.a. #BossBLife. But, if I were to spill my chai latte, what was I actually doing? Well, in between online meetings and scrambling through deadlines, I took a long, hard look at my seemingly endless to-do list and made some life-altering decisions. So, buckle up, ladies, 'coz it's time to learn how to cut that monstrous workload in half!

First, let's start with a confession: I am a workaholic (guilty as charged!), which means my workload is typically a beast. Trust me; it's a heavy cocktail of filming videos, creative brainstorming sessions, tackling never-ending emails, and providing the most exceptional customer care. But to be honest, I love a good challenge, and I'm slightly obsessed with my company and clients.

Now, every boss b has her favorite parts of work. For me, it's bringing fresh ideas to life, meeting new clients, and monthly group coaching with That Tapping Society. I’m a believer in enjoying what we do because life's too short, right?

In this busy-bee lifestyle, there are, of course, certain tasks that take up the majority of our time yet offer close to zilch in fulfillment. Email management sits right on top of that list, followed by billing, social media updates, and trying to tame that darned project management software. In a nutshell, those tasks have taken on a life of their own.

So, let's talk about those tasks we would absolutely love to delegate or eliminate altogether. While it is important to be in control and be involved in every aspect of our businesses, there's a breaking point where we must ask ourselves, "What is the return on my time investment?" And ladies, mine was getting questionable.

To take back some of that precious time, I made some conscious decisions. First up, I started outsourcing tasks like social media management, bookkeeping, and even email triage. Did you know there are online tools and virtual assistants specializing in these tasks? #GameChangers! Trust me; once you delegate these tasks to professionals, it's like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders - and your work calendar!

Then, take a cue from my pandemic-inspired home improvements: get rid of chores that can be done quickly with a bit of help. Remember how I started getting groceries delivered and learning the fine art of nail and brow maintenance? Well, I applied this same logic to my work life, embracing automation and streamlining processes wherever possible.

By focusing on the most important aspects of our jobs, we say goodbye to the repetitive, draining, and unfulfilling tasks. Plus, time management becomes a breeze, giving us more opportunities to grow our businesses and conquer the world.

In conclusion, fellow boss b’s, don't shy away from re-evaluating and delegating aspects of your workload. Remember, sometimes less is indeed more. We deserve a work-life balance that allows us to enjoy both our businesses and our much-needed downtime. So, let's raise a glass to delegating, outsourcing, and achieving that ever-elusive but oh-so-needed balance!
